Sure, making it al bent and janky for that authentic scribbly feel, I kno the deal. But you can always make some bendy/janky lines in some copy/pasted shapes, as long as it connects on the sides, or edit it afterwards, building the brick stuff up, with a makeshift tile-set, and then bending or editing it afterwards, to make it a lil roughed up again.
So u can work a lil smarter instead of harder, while keeping the feel ur going for.

Brick patterns are easypeasy. Just a bunch of horizontal lines, then just little lines up or down, skipping one row each time.Then the same, right in the middle of the skipped rows. Or just one square of that pattern, and copy/paste it around.

the point is that its not supposed to be straight, so that where my problem comes from lol
